MaxxECU online help

Function to build boost while vehicle is at the start line.

Get even faster with the Power management system.

Switch activation can be triggered by either a physical digital input or using the Internal output system.

Launch control

enable launch control

Enable or disable the Launch control function.

multi stage launch

Multi stage launch control can be used to set a lower RPM limit while staging. Stage switching is controlled by TPS or by switch inputs. Use the internal digital inputs function Launch control switch, enable stage for advanced configuration of activation conditions.

Note: Stage 3 input overrides stage 2 if they both are active.

activation mode

How Launch control should be activated.

Switch input - The digital input function Launch control switch, enable stage x needs to be triggered.

Clutch input - The digital input function clutch switch needs to be triggered.

Always active (disabled by speed) - Launch control is always active, but will be disabled when system senses a wheel speed above a certain speed (disable above speed below).

switch activation delay

Specifies the activation delay time (in seconds).

switch deactivation delay

Specifies the deactivation delay.

disable below tps

Specifies the disable TPS, TPS below this value disables the Launch control.

disable above speed

Specifies the speed (if available) which will deactivate the function.

Note: Requires a wheel speed sensor to be mounted and calibrated.

Speed source

Specifies the Speed source to be used to disable the function.

Switch to stage 2 above TPS

Automatically switch to launch control stage 2 over the specified TPS angle.

Note: Default value of 0.0% means no automatic switching to stage 2.

Stage

RPM set mode

Specifies how to set the launch RPM.

Fixed RPM - Sets the launch start RPM from a fixed value (launch start rpm).

table - Sets the launch start RPM from a table.

Lock rpm when "launch control switch" is activated - Uses a floating point launch start RPM, when the launch control switch enable stage digital input is activated, it samples that current RPM as the start launch RPM.

Launch start RPM

Specifies the launch start RPM.

Ignition retard RPM range

Specifies ignition retard range.

Note: Use a high RPM here to prevent the launch to enter the power cut/ignition drop (power cut) for a smooth launch control. If you want the launch to be as loud as possible, you want the system to actually drop ignition, but you need to be on a high turbo/exhaust valve budget...

Power cut RPM range

Specifies ignition drop RPM range, used to limit RPM. Starting power cut at Launch start RPM + Ignition retard rpm range + this value.

Power cut

Specifies power cut mode to limit engine RPM.

Ignition drop - Preferable use ignition drop which cuts ignition to limit engine RPM.

Fuel drop - Some engines requires fuel to be dropped instead of ignition to limit engine RPM, but preferable use the ignition drop.

Drop mode

Specifies the drop mode.

Progressive drop - Interpolates the cut % from 0% at the "Launch start RPM" to 100% at "Launch start RPM" + "Power cut RPM range"..

Stepped drop - Does a 6 of 7 events cut at "Launch start RPM" - "Power cut RPM range", and 100% cut at "Launch start RPM" + 100rpm. <-- with this mode, a power cut range of ~600RPM is recommended.

table - Uses a value from the table as the cut %, can be used to as a "fixed" cut %.

RPM control - Uses a editable P gain and I gain parameter to easier get a stable launch RPM.

RPM PID Control P GAIN

Specifies the Launch control P gain value when the above drop mode = rpm control.

RPM PID Control i GAIN

Specifies the Launch control I gain value when the above drop mode = rpm control.

max drop

Specifies the maximum drop (cut) in percentage (0-100%) allowed by the Launch control feature.

extra fuel

Specifies how much extra fuel to be added during launch control. Normally used to reduce temperature inside engine.

Note: Do not add to much fuel to flood the engine, the transition from launch control to normal control can be disrupted by too much fuel in the system.

ignition retard mode

How the transition between regular ignition table and the launch ignition retard angle is done.

Direct - Changes ignition advance immediate when launch start rpm is reached.

Linear - Smooth transition from ignition advance table to ignition retard angles (below) using the ignition retards rpm range. <-- preferable use this setting for smoother transitions.

Ign angle vs boost - Ignition retard table vs MAP value. Can be used to control boost on Launch.

Ign angle vs TPS - Ignition retard table vs TPS value. Can be used to control boost on Launch.

table for main ignition table - Uses a "fixed" ignition advance angle from a table, instead of retarding from the main ignition table.

ignition retard

Specifies the ignition advance retard angle (maximum) during launch control.

launch boost duty

Specifies the boost controller boost duty during launch control (if boost solenoid is used, and used in open loop mode.).

Note: The launch boost duty ONLY works in Open loop (simple) boost control.
