Note: The ME 7.1.1 protocol is mainly a copy of the MED 9.1 protocol, just some small changes in regards of coding for different ABS modules.
NOTE: PDM20 uses the 0x50 CAN message ID for communication, which might be available on some Audi (equipped with airbag modules), do NOT use on the same bus!
•All four individual wheels speed from stock ABS into MaxxECU traction system.
•AC button.
•ESP button.
•All input button can be custom defined by using the OEM CAN Buttons.
•Oil temp (0x51A) from instrument cluster (if available) into MaxxECU oil temp.
•Instrument cluster (speed, tacho, CEL, odometer, CLT etc) working.
•MaxxECU oil temp for dash.
•Stock ESP button can be used to activate/deactivate MaxxECU built in traction system, uses stock light on dash for confirmation.
•Instrument cluster can be coded to manual gearbox via VCDS to delete Gearbox Mode Indicator.
•ABS is working.
•Fuel consumption in instrument cluster.
•VCDS diagnostics with ECU is disabled.
•Automatic gearbox.
•Output RPM changed from ENGINE RPM to TACHO RPM, to be used with the Tachometer output value presentation function as an option. (disabled if any DSG control is activated, to prevent TCU error).
•Initial support.
This CAN protocol has been tested with an Audi S4 B6 with ME 7.1.1
Green (light): Working.
Green (dark): Working (but not controlled by CAN).
Blue: Not ECU controlled.
Orange: Partly controlled by MaxxECU.
Yellow: Turned off.
When we calibrate the wheel speeds from an OEM vehicle (to make an OEM CAN Protocol), we always use the stock wheel sizes, so to get correct wheel speeds within MaxxECU, you must calibrate your wheel dimensions, since they are used to show you the correct speed in MaxxECU.
