Stock ECU is located in engine bay on driver side.
1. Remove plastic cover in engine bay.
2. Remove all stock ECU/DME connectors and put them aside.
3. Reconnect one of the ECU connectors in the middle, gently bend the locking clips (red arrows) outwards and pull the harness and ECU upwards.
When the stock ECU is removed, you have to consider how you will mount your MaxxECU unit and adapter to suit your need. From here on, we give you one example installation.
Best intention is to mount the MaxxECU in the stock ECU location, by either cut into the stock plastic holder or remove it completely, the decision is yours to make.
4. Try to lift up the plastic holder, in the bottom there is some locking clips you need to release before you can remove it complete, and also some zip ties which must be removed.
5. The ECU plastic holder unmounted.
6. Route the included MAP sensor hose from the intake to the MaxxECU.
7. Mount the included Bluetooth antenna (make sure the actual MaxxECU CMC connectors is mounted before the antenna).
8. Mount the MaxxECU, use some adhesive tape or similar to make it stick. Mount the 6 included ignition modules (IGBT) into the 3-pin DTM connectors.
9. Install the included wideband lambda sensor into the exhaust, route the included WBO cable to the adapter harness and connect.
Install the USB cable and route it inside the vehicle. Connect the vehicle harness ECU connectors to the MaxxECU adapter harness connectors.
10. Wire in some extra sensors/outputs in the 8-pin extra connector, and also for boosted application you can use the extra 2-pin superseal connector to a boost solenoid.
Note: The IGBT modules needs to be mounted on a aluminium surface to distribute heat (depending on power output).
11. Before mounting back the plastic cover, you need to cut into the rubber bushing at arrow location to make the extra wired to fit, make sure no water can enter since the MaxxECU unit is not waterproofed.
